Things here are pretty much the same. We all
look back with questions and fear what lies
ahead for each of us. We aren’t any better at
all the things that troubled you, linger inside
our minds like nostalgia, that sweet pain
all of us know too well. You would still be
disappointed in most of us and the way we
treat each other―almost like none of us
learn from our mistakes, let alone yours.
Justin Evans lives in rural Nevada with his wife and sons, where he teaches at the local high school. He is a First Gulf War veteran and a two-time recipient of the Nevada Artist Grant. He has published eleven books.
